Baby It's Cold Outside - Ann-Margret & Brian Setzer Orchestra
Next month it's Christmas on Here's a cute little number. I'll post one Christmas song every day, kind of like a countdown. I'll sneak in regular songs among the christmas songs as well.
I'm kicking off the christmas countdown a day early with this song.

Jailhouse Rock - Elvis Presley
Okay okay, so this might not be a movie musical, but I just had to post it. I mean who doesn't like this? When I was young I thought this was the coolest thing I've ever seen. Anyhoo, it's from the movie Jailhouse Rock from 1957.

Why Am I So Gone About That Gal? - Gene Kelly

It's A Lovely Day Today - Donald O'Connor
This week it's all about songs from old movie musicals. I just love these kinds of movies so why not treat you to some of my favorites. First out is this song from the movie Call me Madam from 1953. I love, love, love Donald O'Connor. If you only want to hear the song it starts at about 1:25.

Only 14 years old. Maybe a bit young to have a music career but she's very good. Let's just hope she doesn't turn out like her godmother Amy Winehouse.

Summertime Blues - Brian Setzer
I know it's a while until Summer but this song happened to play in my music player the other day. Brian Setzer as Eddie Cochran in the movie La Bamba from 1987. The movie is a biographical story of the rise from nowhere of singer Ritchie Valens whose life was cut short by a plane crash. Lou Diamond Phillips played Ritchie Valens.
And I can't post this without posting the song La Bamba with Ritchie Valens.

Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy - The Andrews Sisters
Such a lovely video. If I'm not mistaken it's from the Abbott and Costello movie Buck Privates from 1941. I also posted the Puppini Sisters version, but I think the original is better (the original usually is). The Puppini Sisters version is much too fast.
